Photivo: batch mode and new binaries

Hi folks,

finally a long asked feature is working, the batch mode. Now you can apply the Photivo filter chain to a bunch of images (RAW and bitmap) with one call... As always, Brother John was so kind to provide binaries for our Windows users.

Have fun, greets mike.

Changelog:

Filters:

  • Updated rotate tool with buttons for 90° rotation and a drawing a horizon line that determines the needed rotation.
  • Some smaller fixes and tweaks.

Features:
  • Reworked batch mode. Save a jobfile then start Photivo from the console: photivo -j jobfilename.
  • Third stage for “lights out” mode when cropping (press Alt). The area outside the crop rectangle can now be completely black, dimmed or not dimmed at all.
  • Confirmation dialogs (e.g. when switching to 1:1 pipe) can be disabled in the settings.
  • Alt + 18 or Alt + mouse wheel to change processing tabs.
  • As usual a bunch of smaller fixes and tweaks.

How to batch process in Photivo?

Hello Mike,
Greetings from Tahiti. Smile
First of all a big thank you for Photivo, which is just a great piece of software!
I am a Windows 7 32-Bit user and would like to know how to batch process photos in Photivo.
How do you do it practice?
Thank you in advance for your reply

Hi Yan,it works with job

Hi Yan,

it works with job files, have a look here http://photivo.org/photivo/manual/using_photivo#saving_the_results or please consider our flickr forum we explained it there.

Active users

Well, am using your software since end of last year ... found it by browsing through Therapee-Forum. Wink Guess there will be more and more active users, because Photivo does a great job! Indeed there's a lack of description and I always had to try out ... since texture contrast, local contrast and even local contrast stretch have not only one but two versions available. ^^ Just an example (don't like local contrast much because I'm afraid of halos), it's confusing sometimes. But the results are fine. Pipe 1:1 will last a bit, but it seems worth it. So I think you're right: Coding and the best of the best algorithms are still most important. Many words ... just wanted to state: I like! Wink

Hi Robin, thank you for your

Hi Arn, thank you for your

Hi Arn,

thank you for your kind words. I work on Photivo in my spare time, so either I work on the program or write docs... But since I'm more or less the only one working on the code, I guess that is more important... We need more users and with this hopefully more active people, that's the only way I see... besides getting a lottery jackpot...

More tutorial, please

Hi MIke.

I think Photivo deserves the #1 rating among Raw manipulators.

It is the best with a lot of features..... but
LACKS " How To ... "

Plaese share more tips or/and projects on how use it.

Thanks for the BIG works You have done.

Arn
